The VLF is proud to be continuing the tradition of the Student Surf Art Show again in the 2008 event. We are Partners in Education with Princess Anne High School. The art show is headed by chairman Ernie Sawyer. He has done such a fantastic job with the art show each year. Ernie & a few volunteers create a hand made setting on the beach for the students to sell show their artwork. It is a truly unique art show that cannot be topped. We love having the students on the beach and being part of the Steel Pier Classic. We want the art show to continuously grow throughout the years and become even more successful.
The Virginia Longboard Federation (VLF), a Partner in Education with Princess Anne High School, presents the 2008 Steel Pier Classic and Surf Art Expo. The event will take place on Memorial Day Weekend at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront First Street Jetty. The Art Show will include surf art created by students from Princess Anne High School, First Colonial High School, Kellam High School, Ocean Lakes High School, and Greenbriar Christian Academy. The artwork will focus on beach and surf themes which will be created on a variety of media such as paintings, canvas, photographs, sculptures, jewelry, and watercolors. The event will showcase rising artists and their talents, as well as give them an opportunity to sell their artwork to the public. The exhibit will be assembled, staffed, and secured by the VLF Princess Anne High School Art Show Committee.
