The team challenge is for longboard amateur divisions only. You can have up to 5 longboarders per team. Your team members can be in different longboard age divisions or all in the same division- its up to you! This is how teams will be scored;

  1. Points will be awarded in preliminary, quarters, semifinals and finals in all longboard divisions.
  2. Here is the point spread for each placing in a longboard age division;
  • Preliminaries & Quarters; 5 pts-1st, 4pts-2nd, 3 pts-3rd;
  • Finals; 10pts-1st, 9 pts-2nd, 8pts-3rd

Advice**** try and have team members in different age divisions because that will allow for the maximum amount of points earned for a team.

The fee for LB TEAM CHALLENGE will $10.00

E. Paddleboard Rules

Paddleboard surfing is based on regular surfing maneuvers in conjunction with using the paddle as a tool. So paddleboard surfers must use their paddles while they are maneuvering on a wave- it should not be held out of the water while surfing a wave the whole time. Please contact Dean Knight if you have any more questions.

Here us some advice from a "pro" paddle boarder!
"YOU CAN ALWAYS RECOGNIZE A PICTURE TAKEN OF A GUY WHO DOES NOT NORMALLY SUP, HE USUALLY IS HOLDING THE PADDLE IN ONE HAND UP IN THE AIR WHILE SURFING. I SAY THAT BECAUSE THE PROPER WAY TO USE THE PADDLE IS AS A TOOL IN MANEUVERING THE BOARD. THESE BIG BOARDS TURN TWICE AS FAST WHEN YOU DRAG THE PADDLE AND A NOSE RIDE IS MUCH EASIER WHEN YOU DRAG THE PADDLE. SO PROPER SUP SURFING INCLUDES CLEAVER AND EFFECTIVE USE OF THE PADDLE + ALL THE NORMAL SURFING MANEUVERS."
